performance series in collaboration with Black Fanfare
Muta is an improvised musical performance, developed over the course of three years and comprising five episodes, led by the artist – in the unprecedented role of singer – and Black Fanfare, an Italian musician and dj.
Each episode is characterized by a specific relationship with the situation in which it is shown, and by the addition of new elements and guests.
With direct reference to African trance music, the artist aims at achieving and exceeding the physical and mental fatigue through an incessant face-off with the musician. For this reason, the duration is determined by their physical resistance.
